Carp fishing at Het Timmerholt
Carp fishing at Het Timmerholt
The lake is home to beautiful mirror carp and common carp. Carp weighing over 30 pounds are caught regularly. The largest recorded catch so far is a 46-pound common carp.
To maintain a healthy and varied fish population, more than 1,500 mirror carp and common carp have been stocked in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.
Today these carp are caught at weights ranging from around 10 to over 45 pounds.
In addition to carp, the lake also contains predatory fish and several species of white fish.

Fish stock management and fish population monitoring
Maintaining a healthy fish population is important to us. That is why we regularly monitor the fish stock and water quality.
On 11 April 2026, a professional fish stock survey will be carried out. Based on this research we can make well-informed decisions regarding:
- lake maintenance
- possible restocking of fish
- water quality monitoring
- maintaining a healthy and balanced fish population
This ensures that our fishing lake remains attractive for anglers in the future.
Grass carp for natural water management
In 2022, 40 grass carp with an average weight of around 5 pounds were introduced into the lake.
These fish not only provide an exciting catch, but also help control the growth of aquatic plants in a natural and environmentally friendly way.
