The Timmerholt offers waterfront holiday homes, and land-based homes. Some houses have their own fishing spot, but all our guests are allowed to cast a line at the centrally located fishing spots around the lake. So you can always look for your own ideal fishing spot.
A predatory fish is known for its aggressive nature and powerful fights, making it a favourite species for anglers looking for a challenge and exciting experience.
At our holiday park, we consider it important to treat fish and nature with respect. We refer you to our fishing regulations, and ask you to carefully put the fish back after perhaps a short photo session.
Catching predatory fish requires technique, patience and knowledge, but the reward is an unforgettable experience in nature.
Predatory fishing may sound very exciting to beginners, but with the right basic knowledge and materials, you can quickly enjoy this form of fishing.
Predatory fish hunt other fish. They are often caught with lures that imitate their prey. For beginners, a spinning rod is a good choice: it is light, easy to handle and suitable for active fishing with lures such as crankbaits, softbaits or spinners. Many anglers choose to actively fish with the spinning rod, constantly reeling in the lure to provoke a predator response. An assortment of the items mentioned above is available at our reception.
In addition, a sturdy underline (e.g. steel or fluorocarbon) prevents sharp teeth from biting through your line. A landing net and unhooking pliers are also indispensable to handle fish carefully.
A good place to start is near banks with lots of water plants, bridges, jetties or other structures in the water. Predatory fish like to hide here to attack from ambushes. Early morning and late evening are often the best times to fish, as predatory fish are more active then.
In addition, predatory fishing requires a bit of practice, a lot of patience and respect for nature. This together can make for an activity that is both relaxing and exhilarating!
