Westerbork Memorial
Impressive history
Just outside the village, near Hooghalen, lies the Kamp Westerbork Memorial Centre, a place that makes a deep impression. During the Second World War, this camp served as a transit camp to other concentration camps. Today, the memorial centre respectfully tells the story of the people who stayed here. A visit is educational, moving and lingers for a long time. It is definitely recommended for anyone interested in history.
